What is the difference between spirituality and religion?

Religion and spirituality may seem like two similar approaches, but they are actually different in form and practice. They are not completely unrelated, but they have more differences than they seem.

Religion is based on the worship of a single god or gods, along with teachings, practices, and rituals related to the life of a historical figure such as Jesus, Buddha, Moses, Muhammad, and Krishna. Believers rely on these religions as a basis for morality, ethics, and laws. It is noted that approximately 59% of the world's population is affiliated with a religion, while 36% is not.

Spirituality is a more personal experience of connecting with something greater than oneself. It is often linked to a sense of being alive, connected to nature, others, and ourselves. Spirituality does not necessarily involve places of worship or specific practices. It is entirely possible to be spiritual without being religious.

7 or 9 branch candelabra: what does it mean?

The 7-branched candelabra , called a menorah , has been used by Jews since the 8th century. The number 7 refers to the creation of the world, as recounted at the beginning of Genesis. It recalls the story of Jerusalem and its temple, destroyed about two thousand years ago, where the Jews came to meet God. On the esplanade dedicated to him, a 7-branched candlestick was permanently lit, representing the presence of God in the world and more particularly in this place.

The 9-branched candelabra, also called Hanukkah in Hebrew, is used to commemorate the miracle of lights during the celebration of Hanukkah. Hanukkah means inauguration, this festival is based on the reappropriation of the Temple of Jerusalem by the Jews after the invasion of the Greeks. During this festival of lights, each evening an additional candle is lit on the menorah. This candelabra is composed of nine branches , eight branches to accommodate the eight candles and a ninth which will hold the candle used for lighting.

How to take care of your brass candle holders?

To make your brass candlestick or candle holder shine, simply place a few drops of white vinegar on a chamois leather and rub! Your candlestick will regain its shine and any small oxidation marks will disappear.

If your candle holder is very oxidized, there are several possible methods:

1 - In a basin full of hot water, dilute 2 tablespoons of Black Soap with 1 tablespoon of bicarbonate . Scrub your candle holder with a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse with clean water and dry with a clean cloth.

2 - In a basin full of hot water, melt some Marseille soap . Soak a soft cloth in the mixture then rub the candle holder. Rinse with clean water then dry with a clean cloth.

3 - Cover the candle holder with toothpaste using a soft cloth or chamois leather, rub for a few minutes then remove the excess with a clean, slightly damp cloth. Rinse the candle holder with water and dry it with a clean cloth.

4 - Soak the candle holder in Coca-Cola and scrub with a small, soft brush. Rinse the candle holder with clean water and dry with a clean cloth.
